The Graduate School of AI (GSAI) at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) launched Korea’s first MS and PhD program in Artificial Intelligence in 2019. We have and recruit students with diverse backgrounds including but not limited to Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business, Finance, Biology, Chemistry, Neuroscience, Arts, and Social Sciences.
Our faculty are world class in the field of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing. They were formerly with Google Brain, IBM T. J. Watson, Disney Research, Microsoft Research, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, LinkedIn, AT&T Bell Labs, Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, etc.
KAIST ranked 11th in the world and 2nd in Asia (following CMU, Berkeley, Stanford, MIT, EPFL, UCLA, Cornell, Toronto, Tsinghua, ETH) in 2018 based on total # of ICML and NeurIPS papers according to http://csrankings.org. The ranks of other top Asian universities were 30th (University of Tokyo), 39th (National University of Singapore), 50th (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology). KAIST also ranked 10th in the world and 1st in Asia (following Berkeley, CMU, MIT, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Oxford, Princeton, Cornell, ETH) in ICML 2019 based on normalized # of papers.
